Hertzman and Vonder Haar were Featured on The Today Show on Sept. 11

Louisville, KY (Sept. 11, 2019) –Hailey Hertzman and Katie Vonder Haar,  the 14-year-old founders of Ooh La Lemon LLC, will be attending an exclusive VIP celebrity event  and gifting pet accessories in Los Angeles on Sept. 19.  These charismatic and accomplished teens are the youngest sponsors of specialty items that will be included in the gift bags for nominees of the Primetime Television Awards this year.

Hertzman and Vonder Haar, chaperoned by their parents,  will be traveling from Louisville to participate in the exclusive 2019 Red Carpet Style Luxury Lounge experience two days before the actual Award Show. While in the Luxury Lounge, these young ladies will meet the award show presenters, Primetime TV award nominees, other celebrities, and media who cover this VIP party.  The party and the highly coveted gift bags are regularly featured in major magazines, TV shows, and news channels.

Hertzman and Vonder Haar, who were featured on The Today Show on the morning of Sept. 11, founded Ooh La Lemon in June 2018  to offer clothing, accessories and gifts that appeal to the young and “young at heart.”  They launched Ooh La Lemon using prize funds that they earned as winners of the 2017 National Entrepreneur of the Year award from Lemonade Day, a national youth entrepreneurship program.

Not only does this dynamic duo own a business together, but they also are best friends and classmates. Since Spring of 2017, the two have been featured extensively in local and national newspaper, magazine, online, TV and radio feature stories and have served as guest speakers at major events in Houston, Louisville, and Washington, D.C. on the topics of youth entrepreneurship and financial literacy.

Amy Boatwright, Owner of Secret Room Events, Hollywood’s top celebrity gift lounge, commented: “Secret Room Events is  honored to have Katie and Hailey attend and showcase their amazing company at our event.  They are the youngest sponsors we have ever had participate, and we feel they will be very well received by the celebrity and media guests.”

Knowing that Hollywood celebrities love their four-legged friends, Hertzman and Vonder Haar decided to make a custom lemon print matching dog leash, collar and bow tie set for the Los Angeles event and VIP gift bags.

“We love our pets and wanted to give the award nominees something special for their dogs, too,” said Hertzman.

“We worked with a design professional to create a fresh and colorful unique print incorporating our fun and bright colors of yellow and teal,” Vonder Haar explained.

“We are so excited to share our product with the biggest television celebrities and can’t wait to go to Los Angeles to meet them,” Hertzman added.

Although Ooh La Lemon is offering patrons of the celebrity lounge the doggie bow tie, leash and collar as a gift, others are welcome to purchase these sets on-line at a cost of $39.95.  Ooh La Lemon will donate $5 from every sale of these specially designed pet accessories to Best Friends Animal Society in Los Angeles.

Louisville, KY (Sept. 11, 2019) –Hailey Hertzman and Katie Vonder Haar,  14-year-old best friends and founders of Ooh La Lemon LLC, were featured on The Today Show on September 11, 2019.  https://www.today.com/video/meet-the-13-year-old-entrepreneurs-behind-ooh-la-lemon-68659781984  Hertzman and Vonder Haar were interviewed about having the opportunity to attend an exclusive VIP celebrity event and gifting pet accessories to the presenters and nominees of the Primetime Television Awards next week in Los Angeles.

These two ambitious and charismatic young ladies are the youngest business owners to sponsor gifts at this VIP event.

The Today Show segment focused on how Hertzman and Vonder Haar got started, how they have grown their business, how they have expanded their product offerings, and plans for their upcoming trip to Hollywood.  After the story aired, Ooh La Lemon received 100s of orders on its website and is in the process of fulfilling them.

Hertzman and Vonder Haar founded Ooh La Lemon in June 2018 to offer clothing, accessories and gifts that appeal to the young and “young at heart.”  Ooh La Lemon’s products are available for purchase online and at pop up shops in their hometown of Louisville, Washington, D.C. and other cities. Classmates and long-time friends, Hertzman and Vonder Haar got their first taste of sweet entrepreneurial success at the age of 11 when they hosted a lemonade stand in 2017 and earned over $500 from selling lemonade outside of a local Kroger supermarket. Their experience was so positive that they wrote an essay and entered a contest sponsored by Lemonade Day, a national youth entrepreneurship program that teaches kids how to run how to start and operate their own lemonade business.  Serendipitously, they won the contest, earned the title of 2017 National Lemonade Day Youth Entrepreneur of the Year, and used their prize money to launch Ooh La Lemon.

Vonder Haar said “It was like a dream come true to see ourselves on The Today Show!  I could not believe The Today Show hosts were talking about our business!”
